Upper body strength training is very often limited to weight room activities.  Plyometrics can be very effective in training explosive upper body power.  Improving upper body power can be benefit all sports.  This section contains examples of upper body plyometric exercises.

Other exercises that are plyometric in nature but not true upper-body plyometrics include:

  1. Medicine Ball Twist
  2. Overhead Backward Medicine Ball Throw
  3. Medicine Ball Passing Drills
  4. Use of a "Toss Back" or mini-trampoline for ball return (this can be used as a true plyometric if the athlete allows the ball return to eccentrically load the muscles rather than just recocking and throwing).
